CORINTH CANAL HISTORY.
Corinth canal which is found in Greece is one of the famous man-made canals that began In the year 1983, it is estimated to be 6.4km in length and 21.4 meters wide respectively .

The major purpose of the canal was for a modern ship, economic barrier and also tourism attraction, during the year 1942, April it experienced serious damages hence the invasion between the forces of Nazi and British Army.
Many ancient rulers dreamed of digging, which was first proposed by tyrant Periander back in the century BC, he later abandoned the project and built a small and less costly one.
Demetrius later planned the same but later changed his mind due to fear of heavy floods.
Three Roman rulers considered the idea but were murdered however Julius Caesar considered the digging of the canal but later was assassinated before he could begin the project.
Caligula, the 3rd Emperor commanded the same attempt of the project but also got assassinated before any progress.
The official construction began under prime minister Thrasyvoulos Zaimis, a law Authorized, this is after Greece gained formal independence from the Ottoman Empire in 1830, after completion, it was difficult for ships to navigate due to its narrowness, traffics and the persistent problem of the sedimentary rock.
Was also found that the wake from the ships undermined the walls hence landslides

Because of its navigation difficulties, its mostly used by smaller recreational boats, its believed that a notable exception occurred on 9th 2019 when Ms Braemar Cruise through the Canal hence was closed till the end of summer in 2021 due to marine traffic, its believed the canal is 128 year old.
The reopening was done in January 2022, under the Deputy Minister of Energy and environment Nikos Taras. So far no any landslides issue has been reported.
